摘要
华裔美国作家谭恩美的小说《一百种秘密感官》是作者在创作主题及艺术风格方面达到成熟的代表作。在这部小说中谭的创作主题有所变化 :阐释双重文化背景的主体基于美国现代公民身份对生活的理解和对生命的反思 ,在小说中 ,现代公民所崇尚的理性主义认知模式及随之而来的怀疑主义思维惯性成为主人公获得生命原动力的障碍 ,而其反面即谭借中国文化所传达的非理性的人生观则构成个体获得身心和谐的必要因素 ,故此小说获得了更加普遍的社会意义。在内容设计上美国生活与中国故事平分秋色 ,主人公逐渐与那个神秘的东方同胞拉近距离 ,直至最终融为一体。
Trying to avoid the common criticism of the political concern in Chinese American literature study, this paper analyzes Amy Tan's novel The Hundred Secret Senses to show how the Chinese Americans understand and reflect upon life as a modern American citizen. In the novel, rationality is an obstacle to the search for truth and essence of life. While the recovery and appliance of non-senses is an effective means to achieve the harmony of body and soul.
