摘要
语义和语用是当前语言学者讨论的主要热门课题之一。翻译则涉及两种语言的语义处理和使用问题。本文试图从比较语言学角度,从英汉两种语言的词义及字面和内涵意义上的差异,在语义场,使用域,文化历史背景,具体情景等方面来探讨英汉翻译过程中的词义处理。
Issues concerning Semantics and Pragmatics are heatedly discussed by modern linguists. This paper attempts to make a study into bilingual comparison of Semantics and Pragmatics and their application in English-Chinese translation where the two languages are involved, from the angle of contrastive linguistics, i.e. the lexical and cultural difference between the meanings of the words in the saidl anguages, resulting from their different semantic field, register, historical background, situational context etc. and the treatment of the words and their respective denotations and connotations in translation.
