This thesis is about the comparison and contrast between two great writers——Charles Dickens and Mark Twain. These two writers are progressive writers in 19th century. They use the manner of humor to entertain the mass and unveil the social evil. They concern the common people’s interests and ask the rights for them. Their works involve almost every aspect in societies and they have insight into societies and human race. They use their whole lives to look for the solution of the problems but fail. The reason is the limits in their mind. However, they are still great writers admired by readers.
