摘要
中医典籍《黄帝内经》文化蕴含丰厚,医古文意蕴艰深,资深翻译家罗希文采用'深度翻译'对中医哲学进行了深度跨文化阐释,提高了译本接受性。罗译本采用内副文本对中医文化进行了评注钩玄、语境充实和文化诠释,内副文本的类型涵盖译者序、导言、每章简介、脚注、英汉对照术语表、参考文献凡6种。罗译本中副文本的文化功能表现在:促动译者显形,建构译者身份和译本学术价值,以异语重构中医文化体系,凸显中医思想价值。
'Thick translation'originates from the theory of'thick description'in the field of cultural anthropology and they have a coupling point in interpreting heterogeneous culture.Luo Xiwen,a prestigious translator,employs the method of thick translation to cross-culturally interpret the philosophies of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),contained in Huangdi Neijing,a TCM classic with profound cultural connotations as well as abstruse ancient Chinese expressions,with an aim to improve the acceptability of the translation.The methodology is to add peritexts to do annotations,contextual enrichment and cultural interpretations.There are six types of peritexts:preface,introduction,brief introduction to each chapter,notes,English-Chinese terminologies,and references,etc.,functioning to facilitate the translator’s visibility,to construct his identity as a scholar and the translation’s academic value,and to reconstruct the TCM culture in English while highlighting the value of TCM.
