摘要
随着中国与世界上其他国家在政治和外事上的交往日益频繁,作为反映我国政治内涵和导向的政治术语在国际交流中起着不可估量的作用,政治术语的英译对于在国际上宣传我国的正面形象十分关键。在顺应理论的框架下,提出在政治术语英译时译者应顺应的几个方面,通过研究《邓小平文选》中政治术语的英译,总结出直译、直译加注、意译和意译加注四种顺应翻译方法,以期对其他政治术语的英译能起普适性的指导作用。
With the increasingly frequent exchanges between China and other countries in politics and diplomacy,political terminology,as a barometer to reflect China’s political orientation,is playing an invaluable role. Therefore, the English translation of political terminology is crucial for China ’s political diplomacy. Under the framework of Adaptation Theory, this paper is intended for the translators to followthe adaptation theory during the translating of political terms. In the study of the English translation of the political terms in the Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping,four basic translation methods are discovered: 'literal translation',' literal translation with annotation''free translation'and 'free translation with annotation ' which can be applied to the translation of other political discourse genres.
