Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology The Yangyuanfang site is an important Shang ear site nearby the Feng-Hao site It lies to the northeast of Yangyuanfang village at Chang’an,Shaanxi Province, and the north bank of the ancient valley of Haohe River The site was found when Shaanxi provincial institute of archaeology made the archaeological investigations in Chang’an and Huxian county in March 2000,and excavated a remnant storage pit Lots of potteries, stones and oracle bones were unearthed in the pit The potteries include li, yan, guan, pen, dou,and zun etc They not only contained the factors of Shang culture but also had the factors of proto-Zhou culture The date of the remains can be roughly assighed to the first period of Yinxu Shang culture It Provided an important clue to understand the culture characteristics of shang ear and in relation to problems in Feng-Hao region before Zhou Wen wang moved to
