摘要
光学纤维的色散特性,与它的折射率分布有密切的联系,本文就是针对这一问题进行理论探讨。对此,首先由电磁场理论的麦克斯韦方程入手,借助矢量运算及分离变量法,得出满足一般条件的非均匀芯子光学纤维的薛定锷方程。在对该方程的解的传播模的情况应用WKB法分析和对传播模数及时延值的一系列计算之后,最终求得光学纤维中决定折射率分布曲线形状的参数α的最佳值,即当α=2+0.3时,光学纤维的色散最小,这就是当前实际广泛应用的所谓“平方分布光学纤维”。
This artical presents a theoretical exploration of such concepts as chromatic dispersion, its index of refraction distribution. It suggests that a close relation exist between these two factors. The artical also deals with the two kinds of optical fabre and their uses.
