摘要
太虚法师通过对佛教基本精神的诠释以及对教团组织社团化的设想,对汉传佛教做了深刻的批判,认为汉传佛教对儒教政权及民风习俗过于妥协,对人生缺乏关爱,僧团缺乏组织系统性,从而为汉传佛教的现代化提供了重要的理论依据。
The Buddhist Taixu interpreted the essential conce ption o f Buddhism and established his supposition as to the communisization of religiou s organizations. Based on this understanding, he deeply criticized the Chinesize d Buddhism, holding that Chinesized Buddhism went so far as to compromise with t he Confucian administration and worldly conventions that it lacked concern with lif e and undermined the systematicality of Buddhist organization. Taixu's Buddhist theory laid an important basis for the modernization of Chinesized Buddhism.
