摘要
The Jerome model and the Horace model have a great influence on translation theories and practice from ancient times. This paper starts from a comparative study of the two models, and mainly discusses similarities, differences and weakness of them. And then, through the case study, it analyzes the application of the two models to English-Chinese translation. In the end,it draws a conclusion that generally accepted translation criterion does not exist, different types of texts require different translation criterion.
