重复是汉语中常见的语篇衔接手段,英语语篇则避免重复。汉英翻译如将汉语中本属适度的重复成分译为英语,往往成为冗余成分,需要译者采取略译和合译技巧进行处理。
Reiterations are much more commonly used in Chinese to achieve text cohesion than in English, which avoids repeti-tion. Thus, in CE translation, the seemingly proper reiteration in Chinese text should be rendered through ellipsis and combined translation.
