Gastrointestinal polyp refers to a benign tumor formed by excessive hyperplasia of mucosal epithelium or glands, which can be single or multiple. It is a precancerous lesion of gastrointestinal tract and a common disease in gastroenterology.Dyslipidemia refers to the abnormal state of cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG)and low density lipoprotein(LDL)in human blood, which is a metabolic disorder highly associated with obesity. In recent years, there have been many researches on gastrointestinal polyps impacted by metabolic factors.According to literature reports, most patients with gastrointestinal polyps have dyslipidemia, from which we can infer that rational use of lipid-lowering drugs has a certain preventive effect on patients with gastrointestinal polyps. However,in various research, there is currently no consensus on which lipid component is related to the pathogenesis of polyps.Starting with the correlation between dyslipidemia and gastrointestinal polyp occurrence, the potential pathogenesis between dyslipidemia and gastrointestinal polyps, the correlation with gastrointestinal polyps, and the application of lipid-lowering drugs in gastrointestinal polyps and other research progresses were investigated, focused and reviewed on this paper. Some clinical reference for screening gastrointestinal polyps earlier and blocking their development in time are provided.
