It is analysed how IT can drive economic growth by improving production efficiency,promoting innovation,changing the pattern of market competition and facilitating global trade.The role of IT in structural changes in markets is presented,including lowering market entry barriers,influencing market prices and consumer welfare.In addition,the relationship between IT and the integration of the global industrial economy is analysed,including the role of IT in the optimisation of global supply chains,the impact of international trade patterns,and cross-border economic cooperation.Finally,the economic challenges and policy responses posed by IT are discussed,particularly in terms of employment structure,data security,privacy protection,and economic regulation.Businesses and policy makers need to adopt strategies to capitalise on the economic opportunities presented by information technology and to address possible challenges.
