At present, the incidence of liver disease remains high in China, with liver injury,as a common pathological state among various liver diseases, posing a serious threat to human health.Western medicine frequently employs liver protection, jaundice relief, and lipid-lowering treatments, which not only exhibit significant adverse reactions but also yield unsatisfactory efficacy. With recent advancements in the development of herbal components, numerous traditional Chinese medicines have demonstrated hepatoprotective advantages and have been widely applied in the treatment of liver diseases. The corresponding author of this paper,Professor Hou Aihua, based on the the theory of“yin in property and yang in function of liver”,which takes liver blood as the body and liver Qi as the use, proposed that nourishing liver blood and soothing liver qi should be combined in the treatment of acute liver injury. In view of the pathogenic factors such as dampness, heat, toxicity and stasis, the methods of clearing heat and dampness, dissolving turbidity and detoxification, and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis are given, and at the same time, the spleen and kidney and are not forgotten to nourish the spleen and kidney organs, and treat acute liver injury caused by various reasons.
