摘要
在“双碳”目标背景下,推动制造业企业生产方式绿色转型是高质量发展的重要内容。本文基于国内生产网络视角,从需求侧探究中国制造业企业减排的动因,通过建立一个生产技术选择内生决定的异质性企业模型,揭示了外部需求冲击如何影响企业自身及其上下游企业的生产技术选择,从而影响企业污染排放强度。在此基础上,使用份额移动法构建企业层面的外部需求冲击指标,并结合企业之间的投入产出联系构建外部需求冲击的上下游溢出效应指标,从实证上检验了外部需求冲击对中国企业污染排放强度的直接和间接影响。结果发现,企业外部需求扩张导致的市场规模效应大于竞争效应,可以有效降低企业自身污染排放强度,并且企业外部需求扩张的影响也可以沿着国内生产网络溢出到上下游企业尤其是下游企业,从而间接降低其他企业污染排放强度。此外,外部需求冲击对企业污染排放强度的直接影响和间接影响主要通过促使企业选择更先进和环保的生产技术发挥作用。本文的研究有助于厘清外部需求、国内生产网络和企业绿色发展之间背后的逻辑关系。本文的政策启示是,维持外部需求增长稳定与推动全国统一大市场建设有助于促进经济绿色低碳发展。
In the context of dual carbon goals,promoting the green transformation of manufacturing enterprises'production mode is an important content of high-quality development.Maintaining stable growth of external demand plays an important supporting role in building a new development pattern and promoting high-quality development.Will the steady growth of external demand affect the green development of manufacturing enterprises?Will the impact of external demand have spillover effects among firms in different sectors through domestic circulation??To answer the above questions,this paper explores the motivation for emission reduction of Chinese manufacturing enterprises from the demand side and the perspective of domestic production network.In this paper,a heterogeneous firm model of endogenous determination of production technology choice is established to reveal how external demand shock affects the production technology choice of a firm itself and its upstream and downstream enterprises,thus affecting the pollution emission intensity.On this basis,this paper uses the shift-share method to construct the firm-level external demand shock index,and combines the input-output connection between enterprises to construct the upstream and downstream spillover effect index of external demand shock.Then,this paper uses the microproduction and pollution data of Chinese firms to examine the direct and indirect effects of external demand shocks on pollution emission intensity of Chinese enterprises.The results show that the market scale effect caused by the expansion of external demand is greater than the competition effect,which can effectively reduce firm pollution emission intensity.Moreover,the impact of the expansion of external demand can also spill over to upstream and downstream enterprises,especially downstream enterprises,along the domestic production network,thereby indirectly reducing the pollution emission intensity of other enterprises.In addition,prompting companies to choose more advanced and environmentally friendl
