摘要
文章将“一带一路”倡议视为准自然实验,以2009~2022年中国沪深A股上市企业为研究对象,采用双重差分法评估“一带一路”倡议对企业ESG表现的影响。结果表明,“一带一路”倡议显著提升了企业ESG表现,彰显了中国在共建“一带一路”过程中的负责任大国形象。渠道检验表明,“一带一路”倡议可以通过缓解企业融资约束和促进企业数字化转型两个渠道提升企业ESG表现。异质性分析表明,“一带一路”倡议对企业ESG表现的提升作用在重点合作行业、重污染合作行业、国有企业、非节点城市企业中表现更强。文章为推进“一带一路”倡议实施和提升企业ESG表现提供了借鉴。
Regarding the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)as a quasi-natural experiment,this paper takes Chinese A-share listed enterprises in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2009 to 2022 as the research object and adopts DID method to evaluate the influence of BRI on ESG performance of the enterprises.The results show that BRI significantly promotes ESG performance of the enterprises,reflecting China's image as a big responsible country in the process of jointly constructing the Belt and Road(B&R).The mechanism test reveals that BRI can improve ESG performance of the enterprises by alleviating financing constraints and promoting digital transformation.The heterogeneity analysis indicates that the promotion effect of BRI on ESG performance of the enterprises is stronger in key cooperative industries,heavy-polluting cooperative industries,state-owned enterprises and enterprises in non-nodal cities.This paper provides reference for advancing the implementation of BRI and improving ESG performance of the enterprises.
