摘要
明清两朝江南经济繁盛,民间经贸往来趋专业化、集中化,由此簇生大批繁华的商业聚集区。在交通繁忙的大运河支流处,水运尤其繁荣,经济发达,财力积累,各层贤达人士甚爱以传统观念建造宅院,彰显殊荣。迄今为止在市镇、城市、乡村仍保留有不少较为完整的宅院。
This article focuses on the brick carvings and decorations of gatehouses in Wujiang,Suzhou City.The differences of these brick carvings and decorations were attributed to different identities and classes of scholars,peasants,artisans and merchants.
