History and Recent Advances of Distributed X-ray Sources

摘要 介绍了分布式X射线源的技术概念和历史渊源,分布式X射线源是指可以在一个射线管内的不同位置分别独立可控地产生X射线发射的装置,其理念在X射线CT技术的早期阶段即被提出,目的是解决滑环运动带来的成像速度慢的问题,但是由于技术难度大,早期未能落地实施。随着碳纳米管(CNT)的发现和在冷阴极X射线管中的应用,美国北卡大学在2005年实现了5焦点分布式X射线源的设计和成像研究,引起学界的广泛关注,带动了分布式X射线源的新研究热潮,且热阴极、冷阴极、线阵列、面阵列等众多分布式X射线源的创新研究成果纷纷涌现,进一步介绍了国内外典型研究单位的技术路线和特点,国内研究单位在CNT冷阴极分布式X射线源技术上的研究成果和应用情况。新鸿电子研制了焦点数量从7到256、阳极工作电流7~30 mA的数十个分布式X射线源产品,已经广泛应用于行包安检、工业无损检测、医疗诊断等领域,在三维透视成像中充分展示出静态结构、高检测速度、高时间和空间分辨率等优势,射线源的技术创新带动了成像系统的创新发展,具有广阔的研究和应用前景。 This paper presents the technical concepts and historical background of distributed X-ray sources.A distributed X-ray source refers to a device that can independently and controllably generate X-ray emissions at different positions within an X-ray tube.The concept was initially proposed in the early stages of X-ray CT technology to address the issue of slow imaging speed caused by slip ring motion.However,due to significant technical challenges,practical implementation was not achieved initially.The discovery of carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and their application in cold-cathode X-ray tubes led to the successful design and imaging research of distributed X-ray source with 5 focal spots by the University of North Carolina in 2005.This achievement garnered widespread attention and triggered a new wave of research on distributed X-ray sources.Subsequently,numerous innovative research outcomes,including hot-cathode,cold-cathode,line array,and planar array distributed X-ray sources,emerged.This article further explores the technical approaches and characteristics of representative research institutions both domestically and internationally.It provides an in-depth analysis of the research achievements and applications of domestic research institutions in the field of CNT cold-cathode distributed X-ray sources.Nuray Technology Company has developed dozens of distributed X-ray source products,ranging from 7 to 256 sources,with anode currents varying from 7mA to 30 mA.These products have been widely applied in areas such as baggage security checks,industrial non-destructive testing,and medical diagnosis.In three-dimensional perspective imaging,they fully demonstrate the advantages of static structure,high detection speed,and high temporal and spatial resolution.The technological innovation of X-ray sources has driven the development of imaging systems and holds promising prospects for research and application.
