摘要
对说明和理解关系问题的反思,首先出现于狄尔泰的诠释学思想中,韦伯将之引入社会科学方法论的思考,并在吸收诠释学的因素的基础上,开创了“理解的社会学”。这种新型的社会学要求,对人类行动的研究,要将因果说明和意义理解统一起来,对于行动的解释要达到“合意向”与“合因果”的统一。韦伯的社会科学方法论不仅意在克服实证主义传统的局限,也意在打破肇始于狄尔泰的说明方法与理解方法的长期对峙,他提出了实现因果说明和意义理解之统一的可能方案,对当代人文社会科学的研究具有重要借鉴意义。
The reflection on the relationship between explanation(Erklaren)and understanding(Verstehen)first appeared in Dilthey's hermeneutic thoughts.By introducing it into his methodological thinking of social sciences,Max Weber absorbed its hermeneutic elements and pioneered a new type of sociology resting on the principle of understanding(verstehende Soziologie).This kind of sociology requires that the study of human action should unify causal explanation and meaning understanding,and that the interpretation of action should achieve both"adequacy to meaning"(sinnadaquat)and"causal adequacy"(kausal adaquat).Weber's methodology of social sciences aims not only to overcome the limitation of the positivism tradition,but also to break the long-term confrontation between explanation and understanding started by Dilthey.He put forward a possible approach to the unification of casual explanation and meaning understanding,which is still shedding light on today's humanities and social sciences studies.
