Systematic sphygmology for syndrome differentiation divides the complex pulse manifestation system into 25 pairs of pulse elements, which is a sphygmologic diagnosis and treatment system established by Professor QI Xianghua on the basis of traditional pulse manifestation and combined with system theory, cognitive psychology, physics and other multidisciplinary knowledge.Motor neuron disease belongs to the category of flaccidity disease in traditional Chinese medicine. The tenth edition of Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine divides it into five syndrome types:lung-heat injuring fluid,dampness-heat immersion, weakness of spleen and stomach, deficiency of liver and kidney, and blood stasis in meridians and collaterals.Professor QI Xianghua, according to the four diagnostic information and the changes of qi in the human body, creatively divides the disease into three syndrome types:depression and stagnation of qi movement,qi deficiency combined with phlegm and blood stasis, and sinking of qi movement. For both traditional and self-created syndrome types, based on systematic sphygmology for syndrome differentiation,Professor QI Xianghua can obtains the etiology and pathogenesis by analyzing the pulse elements, and then puts forward the corresponding treatment principles and prescriptions.Relevant experience of Professor QI in diagnosis and treatment of motor neuron disease can provide reference for clinic. Two proved cases are attached.
