摘要
作为著名的文学史家和文学批评家,刘大杰抓住了中国文学思想史上“魏晋”和“五四”两个时期具有革命性“质变”的相似之处。以古今相互照明的方法,阐释了魏晋时期“文的自觉”“人的主题”和五四时期“纯文学”“个体主义”的兴起的关联之处。以进化之史观,借古以鉴今,提出魏晋时期“人性的觉醒”的著名论断,肯定了魏晋文学思想的革命性意义,从而达到“着手于魏晋,却立足于当代,充满时代精神”的著述目标。
As a famous literary historian and critic,Liu Dajie captured the similarities in the revolutionary“qualitative changes”of the“Wei-Jin”and“May-Fourth”periods in the history of Chinese literary thought,and used the method of mutual illumination between ancient and modern times to explain the similar era environment in which literary concepts and literati’s subjective thoughts emerged in the two periods.The connection between the“consciousness of literature”and“human themes”in the Wei and Jin dynasties and the rise of“pure literature”and“individualism”during the May Fourth period.Using an evolutionary historical perspective and borrowing from the past to learn from the present,this famous thesis proposes the“awakening of human nature”in the Wei and Jin dynasties,affirming the revolutionary significance of literary thought in the Wei and Jin dynasties,and thus achieving the writing goal of“starting from the Wei and Jin dynasties,but based on contemporary times,full of the spirit of the times”.
