摘要
当前,人工智能数据标注是全球算法自动化的“最后一公里”。作为平台社会语境下的幽灵工作,其可见性的生成过程蕴含着平台算法背后人类劳动者所处的社会-技术脉络与本地化语境。首先,制度化的职业承认机制构建了幽灵工作的“社会可见性”,这主要体现为平台-国家的共同在场确立了人工智能数据标注员的职业规范以及中西部省份数字产业转型过程中对当地劳动力资源的持续动员。其次,国内媒体场域与学术社群构建着幽灵劳动者的“代理可见性”,这种“代理可见性”既强化了人工智能数据标注员的职业认同,也揭示出人工智能技术神话背后鲜为人知的劳动过程,以此为幽灵工作职业困境的纾解争取更多公共话语空间。最后,作为互联网基础设施的幽灵工作,人类劳动的可见性始终处于“显现”与“退隐”的动态关系中,这种“动态可见性”从崇高叙事、公共性、网络断连以及物质性等维度立体呈现着幽灵工作得以被“看见”的复杂实践。
Currently,AI data annotation is the“last mile”of global algorithm automation.As a ghost work in the social context of the platform,the generation process of its visibility contains the socio-technological and localization context in which human workers are positioned behind the platform algorithms.Firstly,the institutionalized professional recognition mechanism constructs the“social visibility”of ghost work,which is mainly reflected in the joint presence of the platform and the state,establishing the professional norms of Al data annotators,and the continuous mobilization of local labor resources in the process of digital industry transformation in central and western provinces.Secondly,the domestic media field and academic community are constructing the“agent visibility”of ghost workers.This“agent visibility”not only strengthens the professional identity of the AI data annotator,but also reveals the littleknown labor process behind the myth of AI technology,in order to strive for more public discourse space for the relief of professional difficulties of ghost work.Finally,as the ghost work of internet infrastructure,the visibility of human workers has always been in a dynamic relationship between“emergence”and"concealment".This“dynamic visibility”presents the complex practice of ghost work being“visible”from the dimensions of sublime narrative,publicity,network disconnection,and materiality.
