摘要
将叙事理论与翻译相结合,能够审视翻译对超越时空和文本的叙事阐释所起的特别作用,打破中国文艺电影片名音译、直译的窘境,输出文化意义对等的译文。利用Mona Baker的叙事理论,以其译者处理源语文本中叙事的“时空框架设定”“参与者重新定位框架设定”策略为参照,以王家卫文艺电影片名为例,探究其英译版本的叙事框架及其现实建构意义,以期为中国文艺电影片名英译找寻到新视角,激发外国观众对中国文艺电影的观影热情,充分发挥中国影视翻译的巨大影响,加快促进中国文艺电影对外传播,增强文化自信。
Combining narrative theory with translation can examine the special role of translation plays in narrative interpretation that transcends time,space and texts,breaks the predicament of transliteration and literal translation of Chinese literary film titles,and outputs translations with equivalent cultural meanings.This article aims at using Mona Baker′s narrative translation theory,taking Kar Wai Wong′s literary films as an example,with reference to the strategies like settings of temporal and spatial framing,repositioning of participants that the translator used in dealing with the narration in the text of source language,exploring the narrative frames in titles of literary films and the meaning of their realistic construction,in order to find a new perspective for the English translation of Chinese literary film titles,stimulate foreign audiences′enthusiasm for Chinese literary films,give full play to the huge influence of Chinese film and television translation,accelerate the spreading of Chinese literary films to foreign countries,and speed up our work to spread and enhance Chinese cultural self-confidence.
