Plague literature is the so-called direct“legacy”left by the epidemic plague in the West.In the post-epidemic era, plague has been constantly reconstructed and reimagined in Western literature. In the text narrating the west plague from different times and different regions, many symptoms of the narrative contents, narrative structure and narrative style have been shared, which comes from imitations of traditional plague literature and inheritance, but also is the representation of the internal generative mechanism of plague literature. The symptoms provide an internal generating force for the reconstruction of Western“dark literary classics”and the cultural shaping of plague narrative. The narrative symptoms of Western plague literature have enhanced people’s understanding of plague epidemic, played a psychological healing role, and, more importantly, became a catalyst for reflection which renders readers to realize the necessity of building“a Community of Shared Future for Mankind”.
