Oliver Sacks is an outstanding British neuropathist and a famous science writer. He has three representative works of science writing,The Man Who Mistook his Wife for A Hat,Uncle Tungsten, and On the Move Embody Obvious Humanistic Ideas, which contains humanistic feelings. These works focus on neuropaths and the author's unique experience to show human nature, advocate respecting neuropaths and developing their talents by highlighting their potentials, sympathy and care to neuropaths by treating them as normal, and uphold the combination of physical sciences and humanities. Those unique humanistic ideas reveal the unexpected potentials of human nature, giving the readers a new understaning about neuropaths. They also displays the writer's deep care for the vulnerable group with the presence of his open and dialectical horizon, and indicate the further enrichment and expansion of the connotation of western humanism in contemporary times. All that is one of the fundamental reasons why Sacks'works are continually popular among the readers, which has significant implications for China's current social development, educational concepts, and cultural construction.
