摘要
“气韵生动”的西传是研究“图画的节奏”时必须要厘清的艺术史现象。20世纪初,西方学者以“rhythm”(节奏)翻译“气韵生动”,这一译法呈现出他们阐释“气韵生动”的思路以及观看中国古代绘画的视角,他们从线条笔墨的节奏形式中看到了中国古代绘画内蕴的生命精神,并从“节奏”切入,比较研究中西方绘画的审美特质和创作观念。“气韵生动”的西传在一定程度上促成了绘画批评中节奏视角的建构,换言之,经过“气韵生动”的西传,“节奏”被确立为一种观看方式。
While researching into the"rhythm of painting",one must understand the spread of the term"Qiyun Shengdong"(whose literal meaning is"painting in a vivid and vibrant manner")in western countries.Western scholars translated the term into"rhythm"in the early 20 th Century,which demonstrated their way of interpreting the term and their perspective of appreciating ancient Chinese painting.Through the rhythm of brushstrokes,they saw life force in ancient Chinese painting and compared and researched into,from the perspective of"rhythm",aesthetic features and creation concepts of Chinese and western painting.The spread of this term in western countries,to some extent,facilitated the emergence of rhythm perspective in painting criticism.In other words,its spread to western countries made rhythm a way of appreciating painting.
