摘要
访谈中,盖耶教授主要针对美学理论和美学史的关系、现代美学的核心问题、观念论与康德美学等阐述了自己的看法。他认为,与其他的历史一样,美学史的书写总是一种选择。尽管理论和历史的意图或原则不同,但实践中,美学理论永远不能完全脱离美学的历史。如何找到一种能够综合真理、情感和想象的路径,构成了现代美学的基本问题。一个成功的美学理论应该能够对其中任何一个要素做出说明,将它们概念化或提供某种概念空间,并探讨它们如何能结合在一起。对于观念论与康德美学,盖耶教授认为,在今天过于强调鉴赏判断力的普遍有效性可能不是一件非常有前途的事情,而“想象力的自由游戏”值得重视。美学和观念论之间具有天然的亲和力。也许对美学来说,我们不应该简单地认为“观念论”和“实在论”对立,我们应该考虑的是在更多观念论色彩与更少观念论色彩之间取舍。
In the interview,Professor Guyer elaborates on the relationship between aesthetic theory and aesthetic history,the core issues of modern aesthetics,idealism and Kant’s aesthetics,etc.Writing the history of aesthetics,like writing other histories,is always a choice.Although the intentions or principles of theory and history are different,in practice,aesthetic theory can never be completely divorced from the history of aesthetics.How to find a way to synthesize truth,emotions and imagination is the basic question for modern aesthetics.A successful aesthetic theory should be able to explain each of the three factors,provide some kind of conceptualization or conceptual space for each of them,and discuss the ways in which they can fit together.As for idealism and Kantian aesthetics,Professor Guyer believes that,the emphasis upon the universal validity of judgments of taste is not extremely promising,and the concept of the“free play of the imagination”deserves attention.There is a natural affinity between aesthetics and idealism.Maybe we should not think simply of idealism versus realism;rather,we should think of more idealist versus less idealist.
