摘要
自Jim Martin于2000年正式提出评价理论以来,该理论已在研究领域得到诸多关注。基于系统功能语言学,Martin等借助评价理论阐明说话者对事物的观点和行为,并将其分为态度、介入和级差三个子系统。对于语篇中态度意义的研究历来是翻译研究的重点,所以将评价理论引入翻译研究是很有必要的。本文用语料库的方法,从评价理论的态度和级差系统出发,并借助UAM Corpus Tool对《狼图腾》及葛浩文译本中态度资源的分布进行统计分析。结果显示,英译本与原文态度资源基本一致,但也存在细微差别。而语言、文化、译者、受众等因素是造成此种差异的主要原因。
Since Jim Martin put forward Appraisal Theory in 2000,it has aroused great attention in the field of study.Based on Systemic Functional Linguistics,Martin and his students expounded the speaker’s views and behaviors with the help of Appraisal Theory.The theory has been divided into three subsystems:engagement,attitude and graduation.Furthermore,the study of attitude meaning in discourse has been the focus of translation studies.Thus,it is necessary to introduce Appraisal Theory into translation studies.Taking the attitude and graduation system as the theoretical basis,this thesis makes a statistical analysis of the distribution of attitude resources in Wolf Totem and Goldblatt’s translation by UAM Corpus Tool.The results show that the attitude resources of the English version are basically the same as those of the original text,but there are slight differences.Language,culture,translator and audience are the main reasons.
