Expert consensus on clinical application and interpretation of metagenomic next-generation sequencing in respiratory infections

摘要 宏基因组二代测序(mNGS)已被广泛应用于感染性疾病的病原检测。然而,呼吸系统感染具有特殊性:病原组成复杂、标本类型选择多样、存在感染与定植、不同标本类型结果解读原则不尽相同等。为规范临床送检适应证,选择合适的送检标本以及恰当地解读报告,特组织专家对上述问题进行讨论并撰写专家共识,以期为呼吸系统感染中mNGS技术临床应用及报告解读提供专业的指导和帮助。 Metagenomic next-generation sequencing(mNGS)has been widely used for pathogen detection in infectious diseases.However,the application and interpretation of mNGS results in respiratory infections are more complex due to the composition of pathogens,diverse specimen types,presence of infected and colonized bacteria,and different interpretation principle of various specimen types.In order to standardize the clinical indications of mNGS,to select appropriate samples and to interpret the results properly,experts in different fields were invited to develop this consensus,hoping to provide professional guidance for application and interpretation of mNGS in respiratory infections.
