凭藉本国文化基础 吸收世界文化精华——试论竺可桢对优秀传统文化教育资源的承继

摘要 竺可桢主持浙江大学校政期间,力求将西方大学崇拜理知、推崇真理的理念,与中国教育明德亲民、学做圣人的传统,融为一体、全面贯彻,高扬传统教育“道问学,即是尊德性”的旗帜,以“求是”为校训;充分借鉴和利用丰富的中国文化、中国教育资源,在中华民族面临外侮的特殊历史时期,为培养公忠坚毅、担当大任、主持风尚、转移国运的领导人才而不懈努力。近代以来,一大批卓有贡献的教育家,在积极接纳西方先进教育观念的同时,努力承继优秀传统文化教育资源,并使之与从西方接受的观念相融合,探索一种适合中国国情的办学理念和改革教育的途径。竺可桢是其中的优秀代表,他的个案有助于我们对这个群体的重新认识。 While he was President of Zhejiang University,distinguished educator Zhu Kezhen strove to integrate the Western university philosophy of worshiping knowledge and promoting the truth with China’s educational tradition of promoting virtue,encouraging people to get rid of old customs,and learning to be a saint. He carried forward China’s educational tradition by holding high the banner of his advocacy that "seeking knowledge meant respecting morality and virtue" and using "seeking the truth" as the motto of Zhejiang University. In the special historical period when the Chinese nation was subject to foreign aggression,he made full use of the abundant Chinese cultural and educational resources,and made unremitting efforts to cultivate loyal,resolute,and responsible leaders who guided national progress and led national destiny. Since the latter days,a large number of outstanding educators have actively absorbed advanced educational concepts of the West,and endeavored to inherit the excellent traditional Chinese cultural and educational resources and integrate them with the concepts from the West so as to explore a philosophy of schooling and the ways to reform education suitable for China’s national conditions. Zhu Kezhen was one of the great representatives,and his case helps us have a new understanding of this elite group.
