摘要
“吃”在中国传统文化中占据重要位置。如果以古汉语为起源依据,以《水浒传》《金瓶梅词话》和《红楼梦》为语料来源,从认知语言学的角度考察早期白话中“吃”的隐喻用法,可以将“吃”的用法整合于一个统一的认知框架中。受事“吃”是一个被动标记词,但“吃”的被动含义起源于受事“吃”这一行为可能伴随某些负面结果。这一用法不利于交际,因此“吃”这一隐喻在现代汉语中已经消失。这个过程和人类的认知过程是一致的。
“Chi”(“吃”“eating”)has an important place in Chinese traditional culture.This paper,taking ancient Chinese as the basis of origin,taking Jin Ping Mei Cihua(The Plum in the Golden Vase or The Golden Lotus),Shui Hu Zhuang(Water Margin or Heroes of the Marshes)and Hong Lou Meng(The Red Mansion Dreams or The Story of the Stone)as the corpus sources,studies the metaphorical usage of“chi”in the early vernacular from the perspective of cognitive linguistics.The usages of“chi”are integrated into a unified cognitive framework.“Chi”in the patient role is a passive marker,and the passive meaning of“chi”originates from the fact that“chi”in the patient role may be accompanied by some negative results.This usage is not conducive to communication,so this metaphorical usage of“chi”has disappeared in modern Chinese.This process is consistent with human cognitive process.
