教育代际传递与社会分层——来自中国综合社会调查的经验证据 被引量:12

Intergenerational Transmission of Education and Social Stratification:Empirical Evidence from Chinese General Social Survey

摘要 基于2012年、2013年和2015年中国综合社会调查数据,采用中介效应与因果中介效应分析方法,研究中国教育代际传递与阶层流动之间的关系。然后,采用Heckman两步法、工具变量法和变量替换法验证估计结果的稳健性。结果表明,中国教育代际传递效应显著,高学历的父母倾向于培养出高学历的孩子;子女教育获得是决定其社会地位的重要因素之一;父代教育成就会通过子代教育成就的中介效应,间接影响子代的阶层流动,也即教育代际传递在父代教育不平等与子代社会地位不平等之间架起一座桥梁。因此,要针对弱势家庭建立教育资源补偿机制,促进阶层流动。 Based on data from the Chinese General Social Survey of 2012,2013,and 2015,this paper examines the relationship between intergenerational transmission of education and class mobility in China,using a mediation effect model and causal mediation effect analysis.Further,Heckman’s two-step estimation method,instrumental variable method,and variable substitution method are used to verify the robustness of the estimation results.The results show that the intergenerational transmission effect of education is significant;specifically,highly educated parents tend to cultivate highly educated children.Children’s educational attainment is an important factor in determining their eventual social status.Through the mediation effect of children’s educational achievement,parents’educational achievement affects their children’s social mobility.That is to say,inequities in parental education lead to inequities in the social status of their children.Thus,to enhance intergenerational mobility,policymakers need to establish compensation mechanisms in the form of educational resources for disadvantaged families.
