记者:作为我国著名的油田化学与石油工程专家,您是怎么走上这条道路的,能否分享一下您科研生涯的起步经历?罗平亚:我1940年出生,1957年高中毕业时没考上大学,1958年再次参加高考时报考的是北京石油学院钻井专业,但后来被四川石油学院(编者注:后改名西南石油学院,现为西南石油大学)钻井专业录取了.那一年,我国在南充东观、广安武圣和遂宁大英连续钻探了3口探井,获得高产油流.
