摘要
译者是从事不同语言翻译工作的人。译者出现很早,起初特指翻译北方语言者,后来扩展至整个翻译界。宋代民间译者众多,活跃于各个领域,包括少数民族语言翻译者、外国语言翻译者、方言解释者和译经高僧等。译者多从事外交往来、军事交涉、司法诉讼、商贸沟通和讲经说法等方面的职业。除译经高僧和中央职官系统的翻译官外,译者多由宋朝四周边界地带的人士充当,且因接壤民族的不同而表现出明显的区域差异性。这类人虽出身低微,社会地位低下,却在宋朝对外交涉和对内统治方面发挥着不容忽视的辅助作用。
A translator is a person who works in translation of different languages.Translators appeared at a very early time.At first,it specifically referred to those who translated northern languages,and later extended to the whole translation circle.There were many translators in the Song Dynasty,who were active in various fields,including translators of ethnic minority languages,translators of foreign languages,dialect interpreters and eminent monks who translated scriptures.Most translators are engaged in diplomatic communication,military negotiation,judicial litigation,commercial communication and lecturing.In addition to the eminent monks who translated scriptures and the translators of the central official system,the translators were mostly people from the border areas around the Song Dynasty,and there were obvious regional differences due to the different neighboring ethnic groups.This kind of person is humble origins,low social status,but played an important supporting role in the Song Dynasty’s foreign diplomacy and internal rule.
