摘要
王贤仪是清代山东的著名刑幕,所撰笔记《家言随记》记述了其社会生活的诸方面,包括择幕缘由和家庭生活,行幕方略和官幕关系,文化好尚和文艺交际等。其择幕源于生计与家族观念,幕业家庭的生活水平则明显受个人消费观与幕友行业惯习的影响;行幕方略是王贤仪构筑良好官幕关系并晋身名幕的根本保障;文化好尚是王贤仪“儒幕”价值追求的体现,文艺交际则反映其进驻地方文人社会的努力。这些社会生活的面向共同塑造了一个特殊而一般的刑幕个体形象,反映了清代幕友的群体状态。以王贤仪为个案开展研究,有助于全面展现清代幕友的职业形象和生存状况,亦能对幕友个体生活史的研究有拓宽意义。
Wang Xianyi,a famous legal advisor in Shandong in the Qing Dynasty(1644—1912),wrote Jia Yan Sui Ji,a book describing major aspects of his social life,including the reason for his becoming an advisor,family livelihood,strategies for being an advisor,relations with the governors,cultural favorites,as well as literal communication.Wang’s job selection is linked to his livelihood and family concept.The advisor-family living standard of Wang is obviously influenced by his personal consumption concept and advisors’habits.For Wang,the strategies are the most important guarantee that he will be able to build a good relationship and become well-known.Besides,Wang’s cultural favorites show his“Confucian-advisor”pursuit.Still,the literal communication reflects his efforts to enter the local literati society.These aspects of social life jointly shapes both the special and general image of an individual legal advisor,reflecting the group living conditions of advisors in the Qing Dynasty.Therefore,taking Wang as a case study does mean a lot.On the one hand,it can help us fully understand the professional image and living status of legal advisors in the Qing Dynasty.On the other hand,it can also broaden the study of the life histories of legal advisors.
