摘要
老舍在世时未公开发表的《秦氏三兄弟》是他在当代文学阶段创作中最能体现思想深度和广度的一部作品。从写作目的而论,此剧本系处于北京高层政治圈内的老舍为了歌颂共和国的第一部宪法而写,老舍思想在具体的政治活动中怎样地受到时事政治的影响,需要从《秦氏三兄弟》中去琢磨。就戏剧的题材而论,该戏剧以百日维新、民国初年南北谈判、1927年国共合作分裂、1948年“反饥饿反迫害”的民主示威游行运动为题材,对四个历史节点的选择与思辨,透视出老舍对晚清到新中国成立之间的这段现代史的思想认知。就写作成果而言,以思想认知为核心的《秦氏三兄弟》一直未能得到高度的评价,但由其第一幕第二节孕育出来的以文化反思为核心的《茶馆》却成为了大家公认的“中国话剧的不世之作”①。由此,对老舍的认知和评价的天平,又一次倾向于文化反思而不是思想认知。
The Three Brothers of Qin,which was not published by Lao She when he was alive,is a book that best reflects the depth and breadth of his thought in his contemporary literary creation.In terms of the writing purpose,this play was written by Lao She,who was in the top political circle in Beijing,in order to eulogize the first constitution of the Republic.How Lao She’s thought was affected by current events and politics in specific political activities needs to be studied from The Three Brothers of Qin.As regards its subject matter,the play is based on the Hundred Days’Reform,the North-South negotiations in the early phase of the Republic of China,the cooperation and split between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party in 1927,and the democratic demonstration movement against hunger and persecution in 1948.The selection and speculation of the four historical nodes reveal Lao She’s ideological cognition of the modern history from the late Qing Dynasty to the founding of New China.In terms of writing achievements,The Three Brothers of Qin,with ideological cognition as its core,has not been highly praised,but Teahouse,bred from the second section of the first act in the play and with cultural reflection as its core,has been universally acclaimed as“a masterpiece of modern Chinese drama”.Therefore,the balance of cognition and evaluation of Lao She is once again inclined to cultural reflection rather than ideological cognition.
