Cross-border integration in the publishing field is accompanied by the flow of personnel, which not only changes the employment structure in the publishing field, but also challenges traditional employment statistics methods.Based on Australian census data, this paper divides the employment in the publishing field into professional employment, supportive employment and embedded employment from the dual dimensions of industry and position, and reveals the current situation of deep integration of Australian publishing industry and the change of employment structure. It is found that employment in Australia’s publishing industry is highly concentrated, with embedded employment accounting for about 40%of the total employment, and the overflow of employment from publishing to other economic sectors will increase employees’income and value-added contribution. This result provides not onlya model reference for the integration and development of China’s publishing industry but a methodological reference for the employment statistics of China’s cultural industry under the background of industrial integration.
