摘要
侯官原写作候官,后因人们的“求好心理”,用形近字“侯”替换了“候”。该地名的书写形式虽然发生了改变,但读音却没有变化,即以“侯官”的形式读着“候官”的音,“侯”即从单音字变为多音字,除了原有的“hóu”读音,又多了“hòu”的读音。后随着行政区划的调整,侯官县与闽县合并为闽侯县,“侯”的特殊读音延用到闽侯(hòu)。历史上候官、侯官通用,闽侯也有人写作闽候。在建国后的语言文字规范工作中,按照名从主人的原则和通用性原则,分别从音和形上对闽侯进行了规范,其规范书写形式为“闽侯”,标准读音为“Mǐnhòu”。
“侯官”was originally written as“候官”,but later“候”was replaced by the similar character“侯”due to people's common desire to seek better things.Although the writing form of the place name had changed,the pronunciation remained unchanged,that is,“侯”was pronounced as“hòu”here.Hence“侯”was changed from a monophonic character to a polyphonic one.Later,with the adjustment of administrative divisions,Houguan(侯官)County merged with Min(闽)County to form Minhou(闽侯)County,and the special pronunciation of“侯”was extended to“闽侯”(hòu).Historically,“候官”and“侯官”could be used interchangeably,and some people also wrote“闽侯”as“闽候”.In the standardization of language and writing after the founding of the People's Republic of China,“闽候”was standardized in terms of sound and form in accordance with the principle of"adaption to the original name"and the principle of universality,with the standardized writing form as“闽侯”and the standardized pronunciation as"Mǐnhòu".
