摘要
东西的长篇新作《回响》带有推理小说的文类特征,但看似通俗的形式并未改变其严肃的文学追求。小说中一以贯之的,仍是对复杂社会结构下人的生存处境与精神境遇的思考,那是长期以来东西始终关注的文学主题。对人物心理深度的挖掘,令《回响》摆脱了通俗文类模式化的书写,具有了“纯文学”品质;而那些精心设计的案件背后所隐藏的广阔而丰富的社会图景,又令这部作品甚至超越了“纯文学”的概念。东西写作《回响》,不仅是对他个人的一次超越,也为当下中国文学提供了新的可能。
Dong Xi's new novel Echoes is characterized by the genre of detective story,but its seemingly vulgar form does not alter its serious literary pursuits.What remains consistent in the novel is the contemplation of the human condition and the spiritual situation in a complex social structure,which is a literary theme that has long been a concern of Dong Xi.The deep exploration of the characters’psychology has given the novel a“purely literary”quality,free from the patterned writing of popular literature;and the broad and rich social picture hidden behind the elaborate cases makes this work go beyond the concept of“pure literature.”The novel is not only a personal transcendence of Dong Xi,but also offers new possibilities for Chinese literature today.
