摘要
语用能力量表是《中国英语能力等级量表》的重要组成部分,对外语教学、教材编纂、课程设置、测试测评等具有重要的指导意义。本研究通过问卷调查的方式考察全国27个省、直辖市、自治区109名高校英语教师对语用能力量表的五级、六级和七级写作有关描述语难易度的判定情况,以此探析语用能力量表的效度问题。结果显示,语用能力量表整体效度良好,但存在六级与七级功能知识写作有关描述语不易区分,五级理解作者意图描述语受教龄和导师类型影响、六级理解作者意图描述语受职称影响以及五级功能知识写作有关描述语受学校层次影响等不足。本研究对进一步提升语用能力量表的效度以及优化外语测试具有一定的借鉴意义。
As an integral component of China’s Standards of English Language Ability,Scales for Pragmatic Ability(SPA)plays an important role in foreign language teaching,materials development,curriculum design,evaluation and assessment,etc.Through questionnaires,this paper aims to reveal the status of its validity by examining 109 tertiary-level English teachers’assessment of the difficulty of writing-related descriptors at Scale 5,6 and 7 in SPA.It is found that while the SPA enjoys an overall good validity in content,several writing-related descriptors of functional knowledge at Scale 6 and 7 are hard to be differentiated.In addition,the judgment of the difficulty scales of the descriptors concerning understanding writers’intentions at Scale 5 is susceptible to teachers’years of instruction and types of instructors they are serving as and at Scale 6 is influenced by teachers’professional titles.And the judgement of the difficulty scales of the writing-related descriptors concerning functional knowledge at Scale 5 is affected by the levels of universities the teachers are working at.The findings may provide implications for the improvement of the validity of SPA and the optimization of foreign language testing.
