摘要
非洲戏剧高度概括了当地的文化生活,其翻译的重要性随着中非人文交流走向纵深愈加凸显。基于此,在试译了肯尼亚著名戏剧家恩古吉·瓦·提安哥的代表作《明日此时》的基础上,以接受美学理论为基点,从语言和文化两个层面就剧中文化负载词的处理进行分析。研究发现:在异化和归化策略的使用上,前者应该占据主导地位;与此同时,后者一定程度上的交融以及增译法的补充说明,将有效地减少文化差异的影响,提升译文的吸引力,满足读者的认知能力和阅读习惯。
African drama highly epitomizes the local cultural life.As a result,its translation becomes more and more important with the deepening of cultural exchanges between China and Africa.Taking this into consideration and on the basis of the translation of This Time Tomorrow,the masterpiece of the famous Kenyan dramatist Ngugi Wa Thiong’o,this paper analyzes the translation processing of culture-loaded words in the drama from two aspects of language and culture.Studies show that the foreignization strategies should play a dominant role compared with the domestication strategies.At the same time,the use of the domestication strategies to a certain extent and the supplementary explanation of amplification will effectively reduce the influence of cultural differences,enhance the attractiveness of the translation,and eventually develop readers’cognitive competence and reading habits.
