摘要
从形式上看,重言是形变辞格,而实质上乃义变辞格。它不仅是一种修辞手段,更是一种认知方式。重言的特点是"二词一意",而"合二为一"则是人类心智概念整合的基本思维方式和认知方式。对莎剧重言修辞进行概念整合分析,不仅能揭示重言修辞的形式和意义之间的关系,而且能更好地阐释该修辞在莎剧中使用的动因和作用,同时也能更好地了解剧中人物复杂的认知活动。
Hendiadys is a trope in nature although its peculiar syntax always lets it fall into the scope of schemes.It is a cognitive means as well as a rhetorical device.The key to approaching this device is to bear in mind"one by means of two".Besides,the way of conceptual blending"two into one"is mankind’s basic mode of cognition and thinking.This paper attempts to explore hendiadys in Shakespeare’s plays from the perspective of Conceptual Blending so as to figure out the relationship between its form and meaning,the reason and function of its using,and to understand the complex cognitive activities of the characters in Shakespeare’s plays.
