意象是诗歌的精华,是诗之灵魂,而通过修辞手段塑造的意象才更引人入胜。"summer"作为莎士比亚十四行诗常见的意象,通过比喻或拟人等修辞手段,得到了充分而广泛的应用。文章探究莎士比亚十四行诗中"summer"意象的修辞构成方式,对比考察10个译者对这些修辞的翻译策略,认为可以采用三种策略:直译法、直译加修饰、意译法。
Image is the essence of poetry and the soul of poetry. However the image will be more fascinating by the shape of rhetoric. As the common image, summer is widely used in Shakespeare＇s sonnets through the figures of speech such as simile, metaphor and personification.This paper explores the ways of rhetoric formation of the image of ＂summer＂ in Shakespeare＇s sonnets,analyzes and compares the translation strategies of 10 translators towards the rhetoric, and propose three translation strategies： literal translation; literal translation plus rhetoric; free translation.
