Objective To investigate the risk factors for multiple recurrences in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV).Methods A total of 2022 patients who were diagnosed with BPPV in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2016 to January 2018 were enrolled as the research objects.According to the follow-up results, the patients were assigned into multiple recurrences group and non-recurrence group. The clinical characteristics of BPPV patients were compared and the risk factors for multiple recurrences of BPPV patients were analyzed. Results There were significant differences in women(4.33%vs.1.01%),hypertension(57.14%vs.17.78%),and diabetes(15.87%vs.6.67%)between BPPV patients with multiple recurrences and those without non-recurrence(P<0.05).Multivariate regression analysis found that women(P<0.001)and hypertension(P<0.001)were risk factors that affect multiple recurrences after successful BPPV restoration. Conclusion Women with BPPV with hypertension are more likely to have multiple recurrences.
