摘要
识别制造业集聚对生产效率的影响及其作用机制具有重大意义。本文在制造业集聚与生产效率关系的两部门经济中引入运输成本,讨论交通运输条件在制造业集聚与生产效率中发挥的作用。结合理论分析框架,本文应用门槛面板模型实证检验不同交通运输条件下制造业集聚对生产效率的非线性影响。研究发现:制造业集聚对生产效率的影响存在典型的门槛效应,且该效应受交通运输条件的影响。在交通运输条件发达的地区,制造业集聚更容易带来规模经济,提高生产效率。反之,在交通运输条件薄弱的地区,一味追求集聚难免造成当地生产要素配置不平衡,不利于提高生产效率。
It is of great significance to identify the impact of manufacturing agglomeration on production efficiency and its mechanism. This paper introduces transportation costs in a two-sector economy with the relationship between manufacturing agglomeration and production efficiency and discusses the role of transportation conditions in manufacturing agglomeration and production efficiency. Combined with the theoretical analysis framework,the threshold panel model is used to empirically test the nonlinear impact of manufacturing agglomeration on production efficiency under different transportation conditions. We found that the impact of manufacturing agglomeration on production efficiency has a typical threshold effect,and this effect is affected by transportation conditions. In areas with developed transportation conditions,manufacturing agglomeration is more likely to bring economies of scale and increase production efficiency. Conversely,in areas with poor transportation conditions,the blind pursuit of agglomeration will inevitably lead to an imbalance in the allocation of local production factors,which is not conducive to improving production efficiency.
