摘要
基于长江经济带108个地级市2004—2018年数据,将高铁开通作为一项准自然实验,采用双重差分(DID)方法检验高铁开通对长江经济带城乡收入差距的影响。研究发现:(1)高铁开通显著地提高了长江经济带城市居民和农村居民的收入水平,但是对城市居民收入水平提升作用更为明显,高铁开通总体上扩大了长江经济带城乡收入差距;(2)高铁开通对长江经济带不同的地区表现出一定的异质性,高铁开通加剧了下游地区城乡收入差距,但对于上游地区而言,高铁开通却能起到缩小城乡收入差距的作用;(3)进一步研究发现,人口流动和资本流动是高铁开通扩大长江经济带城乡收入差距的重要机制。从加强农村地区与高铁站之间交通网络建设、优化高铁空间分布、完善城乡之间要素市场机制等方面提出缩小收入差距的建议。
While the opening of high-speed rail changes the allocation of regional factors and reshapes the regional spatial pattern,the economic benefits of high-speed rail are profoundly changing the income distribution pattern of urban and rural residents in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Based on the data of 108 prefecture-level cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2004 to 2018,this article takes the opening of high-speed rail as a quasi-natural experiment,and uses the double differential(DID)method to test the impact of high-speed rail opening on the urban-rural income gap in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The study finds that:(1)The opening of high-speed rail has significantly increased the income levels of urban and rural residents in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,but it has a more obvious effect on the income level of urban residents.The opening of high-speed rail has generally widened the urban-rural income gap in the Yangtze River Economic Belt;(2)The opening of high-speed rail also shows a certain degree of heterogeneity in different regions of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The opening of high-speed rail has aggravated the urban-rural income gap in downstream areas,but for upstream regions,it can play a role in narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas;(3)Further research has found that population and capital flows are important mechanisms for the opening of high-speed rail to expand the urban-rural income gap in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Finally,the article puts forward suggestions on reducing the income gap in terms of strengthening the construction of the transportation network between rural areas and high-speed rail stations,optimizing the spatial distribution of high-speed rail,and improving the factor market mechanism between urban and rural areas.
