摘要 可见光激光在显示、通讯、生物医学、光学传感、光谱学、高端制造等领域具有重大应用需求.目前,可见光激光大多通过近红外激光的非线性频率转换(倍频、和频)获得,存在系统复杂、转换效率较低、光束质量较差、成本较高等问题.随着精密加工制造及先进应用的快速发展,对性能优、效率高、稳定性好、结构紧凑的可见光激光器的需求日益迫切.本文主要介绍厦门大学电子工程系光电子技术研究所利用直接产生可见光激光技术(与非线性频率转换不同),获得高功率/短脉冲可见光固体激光器和光纤激光器的研究进展:1)首次将被动锁模激光器推向可见光波段;2)直接产生可见光的激光器功率达瓦级;3)利用各种稀土(Pr^(3+)、Ho^(3+)、Dy^(3+))掺杂光纤或晶体,研发了绿/黄/橙/红等新波长可见光激光器;4)开展可见光激光光场调控研究,实现可见光涡旋激光的直接产生.最后分析了可见光激光研究的发展方向与面临的问题. Visible lasers have claimed their critical roles in display,communication,biomedicine,optical sensing,spectroscopy,and high-end manufacturing among others.At present,the main route for producing visible lasers continues to be based on nonlinear frequency conversion(frequency doubling and sum-frequency)of near infrared lasers.Such production endures complex systems,low conversion efficiencies,inferior beam qualities,and high costs.Following the rapid development of fine processing and manufacturing as well as various advanced applications,the generation of laser with high performance,high efficiency,high stability and high compactness has become increasingly important.In this paper,we primarily introduce our research group’s progress in the direct generation of high-power and/or short-pulse all-solid-state and fiber lasers within the visible spectral range.Our introduction involves following topics:1)pushing forward passively mode-locking lasers to the visible range for the first time;2)direct generation of watt-level visible lasers,especially watt-level yellow lasers;3)various novel visible lasers at different wavelengths via Pr^(3+)-,Ho^(3+)-,and Dy^(3+)-doped laser materials,which enrich laser sources in the visible range;4)manipulating optical fields for achieving the direct generation of vortex lasers in the visible range.Finally,we analyze the research direction and existing challenges of visible lasers.
