Objective:To explore the mediating effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between fear of progression and quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Method:A total of 245 patients were recruited by convenient sampling method from July 2019 to January 2020,the fear of progression questionnaire-short form, diabetes management self-efficacy scale and European quality of life-five dimensions were used to collect data.Result:The utility index of health description system was 0.86±0.20,and the EQ-5D visual analog scale score was(81.51±11.45)points.The fear disease progression score was(28.02±8.66)points,31.4%of patients suffered from psychological dysfunction due to excessive fear of progression. The self-efficacy score was(130.85±37.27)points,in a moderate level.Pearson correlation analysis showed that fear of disease progression in T2DM patients was negatively correlated with self-efficacy(r=-0.44,P<0.01),and negatively correlated with health-related quality of life(r=-0.23,P<0.01),and self-efficacy was positively correlated with health-related quality of life(r=0.25,P<0.01).Self-efficacy played a partial mediating between fear of progression and quality of life, accounting for 35.7%of the total effect.Conclusion:Self-efficacy plays a partial mediating between fear of progression and quality of life.
