摘要
洛克菲勒基金会与中国近代图书馆的结缘始于1917年协和医学院图书馆的建设,在随后的三四十年代,洛氏基金会继续资助中国图书馆建设,不仅对中国近代图书馆学教育、人才培养、图书馆馆藏建设、图书馆技术革新等方面做出积极的贡献,也在保存中华文化典籍、传播中国文化、促进中西方文化交流方面发挥了一定的作用。洛氏基金会是研究中国近代图书馆史无法回避的存在,洛氏基金会在中国资助图书馆(学)发展的历史对中美图书馆(学)史、中美文化关系史、中美教育关系史等领域的研究都可以提供有价值的史料。
The connection between the Rockefeller Foundation and the Modern Chinese library began with the construction of the Union Medical College Library in 1917.In the 1930s,the Rockefeller Foundation continued to fund the construction of Chinese libraries.This not only made positive contributions to modern Chinese library science education,personnel training,library collection construction,library technology innovation,etc.,but also played an active role in preserving Chinese cultural classics,disseminating Chinese culture,and promoting cultural exchanges between China and the West.The Rockefeller Foundation is an unavoidable existence in the study of Modern Chinese library history.The history of the development of library science funded by the Rockefeller Foundation in China can provide valuable materials for the research of the history of library science,the history of Sino-American cultural relations,the history of Sino-American educational relations and other fields.
