In this paper, the dog numbers, numbers of rabies dog bite-injuried person events, numbers of persons injured by dogs, distribution and epidemic characteristics of dog-population,region and time in Xi'an from 2012 to 2019 were analyzed.Meanwhile, the incidence, risk factors and epidemic trend of rabies dog bite-injuried person events were discussed,so as to provide scientific basis for prevention and control of rabies. The results showed that from 2012 to 2019,dog numbers of numbers of rabies dog bite-injuried person events and persons injured by dogs increased year by year in Xi'an,and 54 events(88.52%)among 61 events were caused by stray dogs.At the same time, rabies dog bite-injuried person events mainly occurred in Changan district,Baqiao district and the other urban-rural areas, and urban-rural fringe/villages in city were relatively concentrated.July to September is the highest incidence season for rabies dog bite-injuried person events. In conclusion, although Xi'an has been administrated compulsory rabies immunization for 8 years, the current situation of rabies prevention and control still faces many challenges due to effects of multiple risk factors. Therefore,it is urgent to improve comprehensive prevention and control ability of rabies.
