Objective To evaluate the effect of self-management intervention on improving quality of life in patients with type Ⅲ chronic prostatitis. Methods Total of 120 patients with type Ⅲ chronic prostatitis treated in our hospital from June 2019 to January 2020 were randomly divided into the control group and Self-management intervention group(Hereinafter referred to as SMI group), 60 patients in each group. The patients in the control group received doctor’s order-based routine treatment, and the patients in the SMI group received routine treatment with self-management intervention, they are followed up for 3 months. Sf-36, NIH-CPSI, and GAD-7 scores were performed in the two groups respectively. The differences between the two groups in the degree of quality of life, anxiety and the symptoms of prostatitis were comparatively analyzed. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in baseline data between the two groups. After treatment, the quality of life score of SMI group was significantly higher than that of the control group;the symptoms and anxiety of prostatitis in SMI group were improved compared with that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion The implementation of self-management intervention can significantly improve the quality of life in patients with prostatitis and reduce the symptoms and anxiety of prostatitis, which has clinical application value.
